We’re the world’s #1 obstacle course race, a strong community, the home of your health and training tips, workout tours, and so much more! 


If you’re looking for a way to shake up your fitness routine, want to try something new with your mates, or just want to have a go at something a bit different, then commit to the Sprint and transform yourself into a Spartan! 


We have three primary course distances from 5km to 21km, and three wave types to cater for various levels of competition, as well as a kids race! Basically, we’ve got a race and a challenge for all fitness levels!

The 5km Sprint is the perfect entry into the world of Spartan. Prepare to conquer our iconic Spartan obstacles, such as the Spear Throw, Container Complex, and Rings (just to name a few), while joining an epic community of like-minded Spartans. 

The Sprint will see you tackle 20 obstacles over a 5km course with your team or as a solo runner. You’ll run through mud, swim over dams, leap over fires, and scramble over obstacles! When you get to the finish line we’ll be there waiting with a badass medal and t-shirt, and an ice-cold bevvy. 

Feel like extending your Spartan experience with a longer course? We’ve got you sorted with the 13km Super or the 21km Beast.

THE SPARTAN SPRINT

Spartan has three different race categories, but we recommend the Open Wave for first-time Spartans, as you'll be running alongside like-minded people and the majority are rookies. Your race will be timed, but you won't be subject to all the competitive rules. We’ve also got age group and elite categories for those of you after a competitive atmosphere! 

The “any fitness level” line is not a joke. We have everyone from elite athletes and Bob from the office who gyms it once or twice a week, to grandmas in their 70’s running the Sprint. 

Posing an actual challenge and taking part in a race and a community are what sets Spartan apart! If you fail an obstacle you must complete 30 burpees before continuing. 

You can form a team with your mates and experience Spartan together, or race solo and commit to your transformation and Spartan journey. Keep an eye out on the event pages for team discounts, and get up to 20% off!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can I run in a team?
Yes! You can choose to run the race in a team with friends, family, or even Ben from accounts. We've got plenty of team discounts available which can save you up to 20%! Or you can opt to run the race solo, and compete against your mates.

Am I fit enough?
Absolutely. We have people in their 70s running the Sprint. If you exercise at least 3 times a week, you're more than ready. We also release plenty of training videos, and have a training guide on our website to help get yourself Spartan fit.

Is it an actual race?
Up to you. Run at whatever pace you like and push yourself. Your race is timed, but the open wave is all about conquering the obstacles with your mates, and getting across the finish line.

Are the Burpees a real thing?
Hell yeah they are. Burpees, posing an actual challenge, and taking part in a race and a community are what sets Spartan apart. We're not a bucket list item. We want you to transform, grow, and come back again and again! However, only the age group and elite waves will have their burpees monitored by referees.

What wave is best for me?
Open - Best option if you're a rookie. You'll be running alongside likeminded people and the majority are first time Spartans. Your race will be timed, but you won't be subject to all of the competitive rules.

Age Group - Best for those wanting to take the step up and compete, but are not yet Elite athletes. You'll battle for points within your age group, and be in to win prizes, bragging rights, and the chance to qualify for the Spartan World Champs.

Elite - These athletes are competing to win prize money, test themselves against the best of the best, attract potential sponsors, and rise to the top of Spartan Race. Racers adhere strictly to the race rules and guidelines. Racers who fail to follow these guidelines risk disqualification.
